| The $20 family law facilitator fee is money well spent for the self-represented:
Family law facilitators are a great resource for those navigating family court without an attorney. The facilitators are available to both the petitioner and the respondent for a $20 per visit fee, money well spent if you are representing yourself.
Legal representation is just not an option for so many people because they simply cannot afford to hire an attorney so having someone at the courthouse to answer common questions is such a great resource.
The family law facilitator program is now available in all counties except Adams, Kittitas, Wahkiakum, and Whitman. The facilitator can assist you in divorce, child support, child custody and visitation, modifications of child support and parenting plans, non-parental custody or visitation and establishing paternity.
The family law facilitator provides the following assistance:
* They can tell you what the mandatory forms are and where you can get them
* Explain legal terms
* Provide you with instructions on your family court matter
* Assist you in scheduling court hearings
* Assist in the calculation of child support
* Review your forms for completeness after you have filled them out
* Request interpretors
* Legal resource referrals
* Explain court procedures, rules and case schedules
The family law facilitator cannot:
* Act as a mediator between parties
* Give you legal advice
* Share your information with anyone
* Assist those who are represented by an attorney
Take advantage of this great, affordable resource.
